Thesis entitled Sending the right Message. Forty years of BBC Radio News. An investigation into the characteristics of radio news as defined by radio news writers at the BBC. What are their goals in communicating this news and have those goals changed at all in the last forty years? What are their perceptions of the audiences for the different (national) networks and to what extent, if any, have the stories and the language used to write those stories changed since 1966?
The research was published in February 2012.
